T-Dawg's Productions was established in May 1998 and has pushed forward at a remarkable rate, establishing itself as a force on the Americana music circuit in the Southeast. As creator of HarvestFest and the producer of some very memorable concerts around the Atlanta area, Thomas Helland, aka T-Dawg, has helped to fill a void in the music scene by bringing in legends and newcomers alike while nurturing a family-like relationship with the amazing local music scene. HarvestFest has been the cornerstone of it all, combining some of the finest Atlanta has to offer with many of the legends of American music. No one who was there will ever forget Peter Rowan's Free Mexican Air Force performance the first year or Donna the Buffalo's marathon late night show immediately following. Or Blueground Undergrass with Joe Craven and Joe Craven with everyone last year. Col. Bruce Hampton w/ Vassar Clements has turned into an annual treat…not to mention the Sunday morning gospel bluegrass performance with Good Medicine and Vassar Clements. Guy Clark, Peter Rowan, Tony Rice, The John Cowan Band, Donna the Buffalo, The Recipe, Snake Oil Medicine Show, Acoustic Syndicate, The Larry Keel Experience and Curtis Burch are just a few of the acts who have participated in festivals past and will continue to make their presence felt year in and year out. The 4th Annual HarvestFest is scheduled for September 28-30 this year, so mark your calendars! T-Dawg has also been busy on the Atlanta end, producing many special experiences at The Red Light Café, The Brandyhouse, and the Variety Playhouse, with artists such as John Hartford, Alison Brown, Norman Blake, Tim O'Brien and Darrell Scott, Mike Compton and David Grier, Acoustic Syndicate, The Larry Keel Experience, Snake Oil Medicine Show, Blueground Undergrass, Donna the Buffalo…the list could go on for a while. T-Dawg's Productions is truly cultivating a following that loves and supports the music. In the last year, T-Dawg established a non-profit called HarvestFest, Inc. The mission of HarvestFest, Inc. is to provide music educational outreach to area schools. In addition, HarvestFest, Inc. will be involved in creating charitable community music festivals and concerts in an effort to impart to the general public a knowledge of world folk music and American roots music through local, regional, and national artists.
